Shot of Bookie this morning finding out his MSU team draws Duke later today. Bookie, we have been gargling broken glass for two days waiting for this matchup. LOL

I have to play two plays today, in order of preference.
#1- Auburn +4.5 vs. Kentucky. Riding with what seems to be a team on a crest of momentum. How's that for scientific? LOL

#2- Duke-MSU UNDER 151   -I just don't think this is going to be a high scoring affair. I see a game in the 140's. Duke is a team built on defence, and I doubt MSU will let them run like crazy, unless they want to go home in a body bag.

Sunday Elite Eight Betting Preview

Thankfully the Sweet 16 has come and gone as it was not pretty from a betting standpoint, as Friday's plays did not go according to plan either. Bruce Pearl lived up to his proclamation that his team would have no problems running with UNC as the 'over' easily cashed, while Auburn's three-ball proficiency propelled them to a comfortable upset win as well. Now the Tigers have a date with a familiar SEC foe in Kentucky with a spot in the Final Four on the line, and it will be very interesting to see how that game goes down.

The Final Four berth up for grabs on Sunday is going to the winner of the Duke/Michigan State matchup, as it's not hard to argue that no team has been 'luckier' in this tournament than the Duke Blue Devils. They escaped on near misses against UCF last weekend, and Virginia Tech had a very easy tip-in fall off the lid to force OT on Friday night.

Duke is the only team left in this tournament yet to cover a point spread which is rather odd, and now it's a matter of what side of the equation you prefer to stand on in relation to Duke's close calls finally catching up with them, or will a dominant SU and ATS victory be looming on the horizon for the Blue Devils.

With that in mind, it's on to Sunday's play – you can find my thoughts for Saturday's action here. .

Duke may be 0-3 ATS so far in this tournament, but I've got no problem standing on the side of expecting them to break out and perform at their best soon. Not having Joshua Langford (been out for months) or Kyle Ahrens really hurts Michigan State in this matchup, as I'm not sure the Spartans have the overall talent on the floor to threaten an outright win. And at where this number is currently set, it's going to be awfully hard for Duke to continue to win SU but not ATS.

Obviously the Cam Reddish injury is a concern in terms of backing the Blue Devils here, but considering how late that info came out prior to the Sweet 16 game, if it's something on the less serious side, we may actually see Reddish hit the floor for this one. That would be a huge boost to Duke to help them spread the floor against a very talented Michigan State defense, but even without him, the Blue Devils should be fine.

Because for as much as Duke's been lucky and/or opportunistic to get to this point, they've still gotten to this point by winning the games. When Michigan State is off, they get some very bad losses like the ones they had to Indiana (twice), and Illinois this year. Even at their best, I'm not sure Michigan State has enough on the floor to get by Duke at the consistent level they play at, and Coach K has always gotten the better of Tom Izzo's program this entire decade.

Duke is 7-0 SU (4-3 ATS) this decade against the Spartans, and that includes a 10-point win as a -2 favorite the the 2013 Sweet 16, and a 20-point win laying 5.5 points in the 2015 Final Four. It was that year that current Duke defensive star Tre Jones watched his brother Tyus go on to win a National Title, and it would be quite fitting if four years later it is Tre leading Duke past the Spartans late in the tournament once again.

Bookie, I am a total Duke homer, so it would be unethical of me to bet on Duke and state that. I generally try and NOT bet on them and, for this tournament, I think I said that spreads for them were going to be ridiculous and to stay away. That's not to say though, that MSU escaped our attention Bookie!! LOL

One guy I am interested in seeing today, is that Henry kid for MSU. He played really well last game. I think I want to see Williamson steam roll him on the way to the basket, LOL

One note too. That Auburn-NC game.....when a team shoots like that from three point land, there isn't much you can do. I think Auburn were shooting like 60% from three in the second half, and Auburn is a really good team anyways. Chock full of juniors and seniors. And if a team shoots from three like that, they can get back on defence quicker, so NC couldn't really run the way wanted to, because that's really where NC's strength lies. So Auburn....is a team to watch.

Kentucky will be a challenge for them, BUT, regardless of what anyone says, Kentucky does not have the same calibre of athletes as Duke has (and Auburn lost to Duke), so I expect Auburn to win this game, but to me, the safer bet is the spread of +4.5 in their favour. Kentucky is being favoured, based on their name and past rep. ALONE.  

As a Duke fan, consider...that with Gonzaga going out, NC already sweeping floors outside the arena, and knowing Virginia is on deck, a team we can beat in our sleep (and have, since we do what they do on D, only with better offensive players)....Moose says, Clint Eastwood like, with a sly smile on his face...."THINGS ARE FALLING INTO PLACE". If we get past MSU today, and put them through the f***ing tables!!! WHOOOOOOOO.
